Workshop on Health and hygiene of women and Girl teenagers

The College organized a training cum awareness building workshop on 18th day of March,2012. the workshop was inaugurated by Dr. Sanjay Apranti, District superintendent of Police, Nandurbar. Ms. Pratibha Shinde, AI Secretary  of Loksamnavya Pratisthan (Foundation for Peoples Coordination) along with Ms.Smitha Deshmukh, District Coordinator BRGF, Nandurbar District and Mr. Deepak Gagrani District Coordinator, UNICEF, Prof Ashok Wagh conducted sessions on different issues and aspects of the theme.

175 Girl students of the A S C and MSW College participated in the workshop.Shri Anil Lambhathe, PI,Taloda and Shri Vasantrao More, PI, A’kuwa , Prof Sudhir Mali,Vice President of the College Trust,Prof. R.M.Patil, Actg. Principal of the College, Prof. J.N.Shinde and the staff of the  College  were present on the occasion. The Department of Women And Child Development, GoM through its District authority sponsored the Workshop.

Legal Literacy Programme organised on 10th March,2012

The Law College Nandurbar functioning as a  Unit of the Nandurbar Taluka Legal Aid Committee organised a programme of legal literacy in the College of Social Work, Taloda on 10th day of March,2012. The chief guests included Prin. Panda , Vice Principal Dr. Chaudhari, Prof. Bhavana Valavi and others.  Justice R.N.Karade of  the Taloda Court and resource persons from the Law College Nandurbar elaborated the Justice System in India and  pieces of social legislation such as the Consumer Protection Act, The RTI Act, the Dowry Prohibition Act and the Prevention of Atrocities Against Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Act.

Prin. R.M.Patil of the College along with Prof. Sudhir Mali, Vice President of the College Trust, welcomed the  guests. On the occasion of  death anniversary  of  Krantijyoti Savitribai Phule tributes were also paid to the social reformers- Mahatma Phule and Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar.

A workshop on Quality Management and Evaluation held on 24th day of Feb. 2012

The College organized a workshop on Quality  Management  and enhancement on 24th day of February,2012. Dr. (Prin.) S.I.Kumbhar, Principal, Pt. J.N.College of Social Work, Amalner, served as resource person.The members of the Staff of the College along with their counterparts in the sister College of Arts, Commerce and Science  and the students attended the workshop. Dr. P.V. Ramaiah, Principal, Prof. S.G.Mali , Vice President of the Trust and Prof. R.M.Patil, Actg. Principal offered felicitations to the guests.

A Cell for Human Rights to create awareness

The College Unit  of the State Human Rights Commission receives green signal for intervention. Mr. N.U.Gaikwad, Asstt. Professor along with Adv. Sandeep Pawar attended a two days workshop organized from 23rd to 24th days of Feb.2012, by Maharashtra Human Rights Commission at Goregaon, Mumbai.

Renowned Gandhian and Social Activist P.V.Rajgopal visits the College.

Shri P.V.Rajgopal visited the College on his way to Delhi as a part of Jansanvad Yatra on 8th day of December,2011. He and his associates dealt with various issues of land alienation and Rights of Tribal people. He was given a loud applause by the faculty and students.

A seminar on Women and child Issues organised on 12th Dec.2011.

The College organised a seminar on women and child issues under the auspices of the Department of Women and Child Development,GoM through its District Office and Maharashtra State Commission for Women, Mumbai.

Mr. A.T.Wagh talked on Female Foeticide , Mr.R.M.Patil talked on Dowry Prohibition Act,1961 and last but not the least,Prof.(Adv.) Bhavana Valavi delivered a talk on ” Legislation for Women.” Mr. Vinod Valavi,District Officer , Women and Child Development Department along with Ms.Yaradi participated in the Seminar.

Workshop on Global Competency organised on Feb.4,2012

Ms. Suvarna Hulawal, a Pune  based Social Worker who has worked in South Africa conducted the workshop on 4th day of Feb. 2012. She  pointed out the need for soft skills development among the aspirants of foreign placements. The students of MSW course participated in the workshop.Mr. R.M.Patil, Associate Professor and Actg. Principal of the College offered  felicitations to her. Mr. N.U.Gaikwad convened the session.

The College organized a workshop on Beti Bachao Abhian in association with Mumbai based NGO working against dowry, founded by Late Shri Mamasaheb Kulkarni. Its regional Coordinator Mr. Nikumbhe served as resource person.The Faculty and students of the College participated in the workshop conducted on Oct.13,2011.

Gandhian Thought Week

The College organized a Week of Gandhian thought from Oct.2,2011 to Oct.8,2011

The College organized a special week long program to pay tribute to the Father of the Nation. Besides conducting an exam devoted to Gandhian Thought under the auspices of the North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon, Prof. J.N.Shinde delivered  a talk on ‘Life and struggle of Mahatma Gandhi’. Some of the students participated in the seminar on Gandhian thought. the Special Social Welfare Officer of the District of Nandurbar  sponsored the Program.

Admission to PG course of MSW for 2011-12

The Entrance test comprising of  a written test for 50 marks and  personal interview for the MSW course will be conducted on 11th day of July,2011 at 11 30 a.m. The merit based selection list will be declared on 12th July,2011 at 04 00 p.m.
